About the Centre

Mount Juliet Estate is truly a rider’s paradise, with its open stretches, wide pastures, secluded trails mixed through park and woodland.

The excellent facilities of the Mount Juliet Equestrian cater for groups and individuals, from beginners who have never sat on a horse through to experienced riders who want the challenge of our cross-country course or FEI show jumps.

We have a wide range of horses, dedicated British Horse Society qualified staff and a choice of activities from trails to lessons so that riders of all standards and capabilities will be more than satisfied with the experience.

The new Mount Juliet Equestrian Centre, opened in spring 2008, is one of the most impressive centres in the country with two arenas, an American barn, an exhilarating cross-country course, miles of bridal-ways, and show jumps. Mount Juliet offers the rider the best possible experience in all types of riding.

Basic tuition and instruction in show-jumping and dressage are given in the outdoor ménages, trail riding is along beautiful woodland trails, all within the Estate walls as well as locally off the estate through the Irish countryside and native woodland.

The team at the equestrian centre can put together a one off trail ride or a bespoke full equestrian package for adults or children as well as offering private champagne river rides for those more romantic among you or celebrating a special occasion.

About The Horses

Mount Juliet Equestrian Centre prides itself on the range of school masters available to guests. The horses comprise of traditional breeds such as the Irish Draught and Connemara which are both renowned for their reliability and good nature. The Centre also stock Thoroughbred crosses.

About the Facilities and Accommodation

Mount Juliet House is an architectural gem, the main house paying tribute to eighteenth century craftsmanship while the estate is steeped in history dating back to the 15th century. The beauty of the house and the surrounding estate parklands bring guests back time and time again. Home to the Michelin star Lady Helen restaurant, each reception room has been tastefully restored with new furnishings, silk curtains, 100% pure wool carpets and rich interiors honouring its fascinating history.

Activities on the estate aside from equestrian include golf, fishing, falconry, and archery. You can also enjoy our spa treatment suites and our relaxing health club which includes a 17m metre swimming pool. Bikes are also available to guests to enjoy the many trails around the estate.

Directions to Centre

Mount Juliet Equestrian centre is located 10 minutes from Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny.

From Dublin, take the M7/M9 motorway towards Waterford. At Junction 9 marked Stoneyford/Kilkenny exit the motorway and take the left exit towards Stoneyford. Drive through Stoneyford village and at the school take the left branch. Mount Juliet Estate is 2km on the left- hand side.
