About the Centre

Slieve Aughty Centre is a family owned eco-friendly equestrian and activity leisure centre set on 17 acres of rugged Galway land. Our mission is to create a place where you can connect with nature and the seasons. With the organic certified garden central to the business, a horse riding facility began more than 30 years ago and has gradually expanded with small conference facilities, wedding ceremony room, workshop space, a garden pergola and, in 2012, opened the sustainably built 9 bedroom guest house and organic certified restaurant called The Three Towers Eco House & Organic Kitchen. The Three Towers Eco Kitchen is one of only 2 restaurants certified organic in Ireland, and the only one in the West! Guests have miles of trails for walking, cycling, horse riding and exploring nature as well as a stunning location for rejuvenation, relaxation and celebration!

Immerse yourself in nature’s wonders, spend quality time with family, go horse riding or walking through the forest, relax at The Three Towers Eco House, and dine on delicious organic food. Leave your worries behind and relax for a day or a week.

About The Horses

Slieve Aughty Centre is home to more than 30 horses, ponies, and donkeys. Many of our horses and ponies have been born and/or trained here by our staff. We have horses and ponies suitable for all ages (5+) and riding abilities.

Many of our horses ride bitless and all are accustomed to being ridden by beginners. Our ponies are gentle and kind and are used to children of all ages.

Guests can tell us if they are nervous or if they prefer a horse with a bit more engine power!

About the Facilities and Accommodation

Slieve Aughty Centre is both BHS and AIRE approved. The yard comes equipped with toilets and showers, tack room, wash bay, large indoor stables and holding stalls for horses and ponies. Behind the stables is a round pen for at liberty work and Horsemanship lessons and a large all weather arena. Just a few 100 meters away lies an extensive cross country course with more than 35 jumps.

In The Three Towers you’ll find 9 individually designed eco bedrooms. All have comfortable beds and en-suite shower or bathrooms and most join on to shared balconies overlooking the garden, fields and forest. Next to the Three Towers you’ll discovered 2 eco lodges and a glamping cabin. Both lodges boast open plan living area and private shower rooms. The larger lodge sleeps up to 6 in two bedrooms, while the other sleeps 2-3. The glamping cabin is a cute and quirky A-frame building with toilet/wet room and loft bedroom for 2. A fold out sofa can sleep a third person.

An outdoor hot tub is located between the glamping cabin and honeymoon lodge, and is a relaxing and blissful experience after a long day of adventure.

The Three Towers is also home to the Organic Kitchen where delicious buffet meals are served three times a day and a café menu is available at certain times. The bar has an extensive menu of wine, beers, ciders and spirits, most of which are certified organic or craft.
