About the Centrego!trekking! Westport Woods Hotel & Spa has the best possible combination of great trekking, excellent accommodation and plenty to do while you’re not riding and for partners. It’s located on the outskirts of the award winning heritage town of Westport, between the mountains and the sea. Just perfect. Treks range from beach riding, splashing through the shallows of the Atlantic ocean, to the foothills of Croagh Patrick and woodland tracks. Our horses aren’t typical trekking stock, they’re Irish Sport horse and cob types, some homebred, and all full of character. The hotel welcomes guests with a roaring log fire and is a great base for riders and non-riders alike. An award winning leisure centre, spa with outdoor hot tub and all day food in the equestrian-themed Bench Cafe Bar all combine for a winning formula. Equestrian holidays are 3, 5 or 7 days in length with a variety of treks on each day. The Westport Woods is proud to be Ireland’s greenest hotel.

About the Facilities and Accommodation
We must have the most scenic sand arena in the country, overlooking the towering peak of Croagh Patrick. The adjacent stable building is a spacious American barn style wooden structure. Sturdy cross country jumps dot the land alongside the entrance avenue. Much of the timber used is recycled from the hotel, in keeping with our green image.
Our accommodation is in our three star Westport Woods Hotel and Spa just outside the charming heritage town of Westport. It is Ireland’s greenest hotel, and a multi-environmental award winner. Leisure centre, swimming pool, spa and children’s playground complete the picture. The Bench Cafe Bar features evening entertainment on most nights. Partners will enjoy rambling around Westport Town, visiting Westport House and The Quay, climbing Croagh Patrick, or touring to The National Museum of Country Life, Killary Fjord (the catamaran trip on the Connemara Lady is very popular), Leenane (where The Field was filmed with Richard Harris and John Hurt), Kylemore Abbey, Connemara, Achill Island, the historic Ceide Fields and picturesque Cong with the Quiet Man Cottage and Ashford Castle.
